Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles included two roles on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in The ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mom. Perry was forbidden to start acting in front of her family until adulthood, as they feared the stress it would result in. Perry says she didn't want to become an actor during highschool but decided to start acting as a social activity while at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry moved to New York, where she was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness led Perry back to California which was where theatre jobs were in demand. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie alongside her in the year 2015. Perry played a part in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. Perry was a regular character in the ABC political drama Scandal which starred her father. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The character was assigned to her through audition, regardless of the fact that she is a relative with the character.
