Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly's mother is Chinese and she was born as a Chinese in Vietnam. Winston Barrett Munn comes from the American South. Olivia was only 2 when her parents separated. She was raised by her stepfather as well as her mother who was an United States Air Force member. They left Oklahoma and moved to various locations, however she spent most of her childhood in Tokyo. The actress was a part of local theater productions throughout this time and was a model for the Japanese industry. Olivia was able to move into Los Angeles when her family had returned to the United States to follow her dream to be an actress. Following a series of minor roles, Olivia found success when she got the role in the role of Mily Acua in the Hawaii television program Beyond the Break 2006 and as the receptionist of Rob Schneider. She is the host of "The Daily Nut", "Formula D", and "The Formula D Podcasts" on G4. The passion she has for surfing has been evident following the television show Beyond the Break. Black belts are hers in Taekwondo. In the year 2000, as she was two years old of age, her mom got married. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan where her stepfather was a member. Attended the University of Oklahoma, where she studied journalism, and minored in Japanese and dramatic arts.
